For those of you who may not know, I got engaged this past March. Sadly my engagement ring currently does not fit with my swollen fingers. I have yet to pick a date yet for the wedding because with the baby coming unfortunately wedding planning has been placed on the back burner. That doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about it and gathering ideas!
If you were to ask me what my favorite season of the year was my answer would have always been summer, but as I have grown up fall has started kicking summer out of its first place spot!
I have fallen in love with all things Fall!!
- apple picking
- anything pumpkin
- the leaves changing color
- the brisk air
...and so much more...
But anyone who really knows me knows the love I have for Halloween, one of the main reasons I love fall so much! I have already purchased Aidan's first Halloween outfit and have started the search for his 1st Halloween costume! On Tuesday, I purchased my first two Halloween decorations for the apartment. Oh how the excitement is building as I write this post. And yes I will be one of those mothers that dresses up every Halloween just to hand out candy and take my son trick or treating! You are never too old for a costume, well in my mind at least. Do you see the obsession yet!?!
So you are probably wondering where this is going considering the post is titled "Wedding Inspiration" and I started out talking about my recent engagement. Well you see as I was contemplating when I wanted to get married I had two completely different ideas in mind and these were the only two possibilities I could imagine for myself.
1. A DIY backyard wedding in MA during the Summer
2. A masquerade ball themed wedding on Halloween
And I have decided #2 it is! Halloween falls on a Friday in 2014, which is perfect. I knew we were going to have a long engagement between having our first child, saving money for the wedding, and having the time to make everything. I still plan on having a DIY wedding because I love crafting far to much to pay someone else to do everything!
Normally I would be cutting and printing out pictures to create an inspiration board but Pinterest now does this for me! You can find me on Pinterest here.
Here is my inspiration thus far.
This all makes me super excited for my first Halloween with Aidan!
