Get that Perfect Smokey Eye this Holiday Season!

If you are looking to create the perfect smokey eye for the holidays, look no further!  Studio Gear has created just that, a smokey eye palette which consists of four complimentary eye shadow colors and a matching blush.  Shades that are all perfect for that dramatic look this holiday season.  Studio Gear Cosmetics offers a variety of cosmetic products as well as skin care products but their Studio Gear Professional Brush Collection is the core of their line.  Studio Gear was kind enough to send me a sample of their fabulous holiday smokey eye palette to try out.

Studio Gear's smokey eye palette is not only perfect for that "night out" dramatic look but can also be used to create a more subtle daytime look that will be sure to turn heads.  The palette comes in a cardboard sleeve that is placed in a protective slip which I pictured above, super cute right!?!  The holiday smokey eye palette also provides a step by step instruction set to help you create a smokey eye perfect for you.

I used the holiday smokey eye palette to create a more subtle smokey eye look.  I opted to use the darkest shade, Coal, in the crease and outer corner of my lid blending well to create a steel look.  This shade is true to color and can be applied darker to create a more dramatic look.  I used Frost, the lightest shade, on my entire eyelid as a base for the look.  This shade is very subtle but if applied multiple times you can achieve the same color as it appears in the palette.  Platinum is a fabulous shade of silver, which I applied in the center of my eyelid as well as in the outer corner before applying Coal.  The gold shade was unexpected but just the finishing touch I needed to complete the look.  I used Glimmer to highlight my brow and swept it above the crease to the brow bone.  I was very pleased with the finished look and was absolutely in love with the shimmery end result, a makeup look I particularly love for the holidays.  The pink cheek shade, Snowy Glow, balanced out the look perfectly.  When I have a more dramatic eye, I always make sure my cheeks and lips are just the opposite and I stick to more subtle shades in the pink family.

My favorite thing about Studio Gears Holiday Smokey Eye palette is that you can create a variety of looks by using different blending techniques and playing around with the different shades.  It is a great product all around and would make a perfect gift this holiday season!  You can't beat the price either, only $25 USD.

Thanks to Brandbacker and Studio Gear you can use the code: SGHOLIDAY to receive a 10% discount on your very own holiday smokey eye palate.  Get yours here!

Tribal Print & Leather

I've had this leather jacket sitting in my closet for about two years now and I am starting to wonder why I haven't worn it more often. I'm loving the edgy feel it brings to these tribal print pants.  I particularly love the detailing on the front of the jacket so I decided to wear it zipped up to showcase all those wonderful features.  It's a simple look with just the right amount of edge.

Guest Post - A Brand New You

Get your own stunning look

Everybody wants to look perfect and know how to dress cute and appropriate for different occasions. If you have some trouble with your style, this article will help you to create your own fashion look.

Choose clothes that flatter your body shape. If what you are wearing is good for your body type then it will be easy to look classy and effortless. Your clothes must fit very well if you want to make an elegant and expensive appearance. Emphasize your stature and hide figure flaws.

If you want to look fashionable you don't have to chase the newest fashion trends. You will always be right and look fantastic if you choose classic styles, this style is always actual.

Choose the right colors. It depends on the time and situation what colors are in trend and what looks ridiculous. Use neutral colors (white, black, grey, denim) for your outfit and more bright colors (shades of blue, red, golden yellow, vivid green) for accessories. Try to avoid an orange color, it usually goes out of fashion very quickly.

Make your clothes look expensive. A nice and soft sweater, elegant black dress or wool coat will always look good and suit you. Better to own some nice-looking clothes instead of having a wardrobe full of cheesy and cheap ones. Organize your wardrobe where all your outfits, accessories and shoes will match. Then it will be easy to create perfect and different combinations. And don't forget to take care of your clothes.

Sometimes your outfit just doesn't fit. It can make you look heavier or shorter. Loot at famous people. They look so perfect and stylish because their clothes fit their body well. What is the secret? It is simple. They use a tailor service. Find your own tailor, refashion your wardrobe and look amazing!

Don't over-dress yourself. To wear a hat, scarf, big earrings and massive necklace at the same time is the worst idea. Pick the right attire depending on the occasion. For example, do not wear a party dress when you go out shopping or you are just strolling the streets.

Don't use too much hairspray or gel when doing your hair. Keep it simple. Apply minimal make-up. A natural look is more attractive.

When your brand new look is completed, you surely will feel yourself more confident and magnetic. A classic and comfortable car will match your new stylish look perfectly. Have your heard about new Vauxhall Ampera car? If not, then you should definitely watch a short movie about this new fashion device. It was created by the Vauxhall Motors company together with famous designer and stylist Katy England. This car was designed specially for young generation who understand what the fashion sense means.

You changed your style, now it is time to change your life. Brand new you in a brand new car. The world is yours!

VS Pink X Chictopia

Comfort and style are two important elements to me when choosing the right look.  I am teaming up with Chictopia and Victoria Secret PINK to style the perfect holiday look that is just that - both stylish and comfortable.  VS Pink has the best selection of loungewear which is casual but chic at the same time.  The vibrant colors they offer add a fun element to all their pieces.  Not only are their clothes fabulous but they offer a variety of accessories that come in fun prints like these black and white leopard socks.  They make it so easy to look great no matter if your out shopping or lounging around at home!

One thing that I love about the Victoria Secret PINK line is how they design pieces that bring out that inner girly girl but are still appropriate for women of different ages.  Once I put this pullover on, I never wanted to take it off.  I love that this top can be styled with jeans, leggings, shorts, or even sweats and will still look good.  All their pieces always make me feel feminine, stylish and just all around happy.

Make sure to stop by Chictopia to see some other Victoria Secret PINK looks!  The items I am wearing are also available on Victoria Secret PINK's website.  You will definitely want to check out some of their other holiday "must haves".  Start your holiday shopping early!

Working Girl with Style - Fashion Linkup

Welcome to Working Girl with Style, a place to share your work style whether you work from home, in a school or at an office.  Following a dress code can sometimes be challenging because lets face it not all fashion is appropriate for the work place.  Join me every Thursday to share your work style and meet some other stylish gals!  We can all use some inspiration from time to time.

Mixing a little bling and bright colors today.  I love breaking out my sequins as the holidays approach.  I absolutely adore the combination of bronze and magenta, they go together perfectly.  I decided to layer the jacket over a chambray blouse to add a more casual element to the look and balance it out.

Simple

A casual but classy look is exactly what this jumper is.  I love the modern take on a classic trend, overalls!  The color combination is simple but the pointy toed flats add that modern edge to the look.

Fall Camo

My flats are by far my favorite part of this look.  I mean pink sparkly flats with an oversized bow, how cute!  I love the combination of bright colors paired with camo, it adds something to a pattern than can often appear dull.  I decided to layer my favorite sleeveless peplum top over a long sleeve top to transition it for fall.  You need that little bit of edge in every look.

Casual Monday

Boyfriend jeans and t-shirts are not for everyone but they make for one comfy outfit.  Just add a pair of feminine heels and that casual look is now as stylish as the next look.  I am not a jeans girl these days but every once in a while denim is the right choice.  My t-shirt was actually made by a former student who is currently in the process of recording an album as well as designing t-shirts.  I am stoked to have the opportunity to style one of his shirts.  Nothing makes me more proud than to see a former student  succeeding at something he loves!

I'm loving the modern style tulle skirts that have surfaced within the last year or so.  When I think of tulle, I immediately think of a tutu but I have fallen in love with these sophisticated and feminine tulle skirts similar to the one I am wearing today.  I paired this voluminous skirt with a slim fitting sweater to even out the look.  I love the shoulder embellishment on this sweater because it takes a simple color combination and adds some sparkle to it.

Burnt Orange

Burnt orange is one of my favorite colors to wear during the fall, reminds of the beautiful foliage we see all around us during this time of the year.  Not only is this sweater a fabulous color but the cowl neck transforms this simple sweater into something more.  It eliminates the need for a necklace since it makes a statement all on its own.  I decided on these rocker chic boots to add the perfect amount of edge to this look.

Please help me win and vote here!  Just a simple click.  Thanks so much, xoxoxo!

Adding Color

I adore the feminine flow of this skirt.  It may have become my new favorite silhouette.  Sweater season has begun with the temperature slowing dropping day by day.  I love the addition of a bold color to a simple color combination, makes a statement.

Need a New Pair of Glasses? Order with GlassesUSA.com!

I have worn glasses for over ten years now.  When I was younger, I enjoyed the experience of storming the glasses store and searching every inch for the perfect pair of trendy glasses.  My love for fashion has always influenced my decision when choosing the right pair of frames.  Needless to say I always left the store with the most colorful and funky pair of glasses.  I honestly must say that has not changed much as I have aged.  My current frames are a mixture of hot pink and tortoise shell and I am head over heels for them.  One thing that has changed over the years is that excitement I once felt when visiting the glasses store to choose my new frames.  The main reason for this attitude change is that I just cannot find the time these days!

So when my girlfriend told me about her recent experience with GlassesUSA.com I immediately had to check them out.  I would be able to buy glasses without leaving my house but still have the same luxuries of going to the store, sounds good to me!  The Virtual Mirror feature allows you to try on pair after pair of designer or everyday glasses allowing you to see how the frames fit your face shape.  Go ahead and give it a try below.  You know you want to!

Here are a few shots of my favorite eyeglasses!

When buying glasses one problem I often encounter is finding a pair of frames the fit my petite face shape.  The scary part of buying glasses online is the fear that they will be too wide when they arrive.  GlassesUSA.com offers a great feature that allows them to recommend you a new pair of frames based on the measurements you enter from a pair of frames you already own.  Isn't this feature fantastic??  This feature eliminates the stress of searching through every frame they offer and having to weed out the pairs that are not right for your face shape not to mention the fear of receiving unflattering glasses.  No employee at any of the glasses stores where I shop have done this for me.  If the virtual mirror feature didn't win me over already, this sure did!

Whether you are looking to buy prescription sunglasses or prescription eyeglasses online or just a pair of fun frames to spice up your wardrobe, GlassesUSA.com offers the comfort and ease to do just this from your own home.  I am finally excited to buy glasses again!
Thanks to GlassesUSA.com below are two discount codes for Simply Just Lovely readers!

Halloween Recap

It's no secret that I have a slight obsession with Halloween.  The older I get the more detailed my costumes get.  I was beyond excited to make mine and Aidan's Halloween costumes this year.  A trip to the fabric store resulted in these two costumes, Popeye the Sailor Man and Poison Ivy.  I was quite pleased with the results.  What do you think?  My favorite part of Halloween this year was taking Aidan trick or treating for the first time.  He may not have understood what we were doing but he was all smiles the entire time and was happy to just be walking around outside throwing candy out of his pumpkin all over the ground.  Moments like these are priceless and unforgettable.  Next year Halloween will be slightly different for us, I will be dressing up as a bride, Jesse a groom, and Aidan a ring bearer.  It may be the best Halloween yet!!

What did you dress up as this year?!?
