So I have been thinking a lot about the direction in which my blog is headed and I have decided to dedicate every Monday to the newest part of my life, being a mommy. My blog began as a fashion blog and slowly transformed into a lifestyle blog. I have made the decision to start sharing the things I love most with ya'll. Those things being fashion, motherhood, crafting, photography and just the beauty of life, so be prepared for a fun mix! Monday's will now be dedicated to "motherhood" with a series called Mommy Mondays. If anyone is interested in joining me for Mommy Mondays shoot me an e-mail at erin.simplyjustlovely@gmail.com. We can discuss some ideas I have.
I find it so funny that when you become pregnant you begin counting how far along you are by weeks and not months. Then once your baby is born you continue this trend and refer to his or her age in weeks not months. Then all of a sudden you stop using weeks and start using months when you can be using years. To be honest it is all real confusing when 20 weeks is not really 5 months but I get why. Pregnancy really does change everything even your way of thinking. I'll be happy when I can start referring to Aidan's age in years! Even then people and clothes for that matter say 12 months (rather than a year) and then 18 months and so forth. You don't officially hit the "year" mark until 2. Once our babies hit the 12 month mark can't we just start using years! I don't know why this bothers me so much sometimes, haha.
Anyway we have been working on Aidan sitting up all by himself and he is doing great. I swear as a mother you start to look at the suggested "monthly milestones" and freak out if your baby is not on target. Aidan basically does everything the "experts" say he should be doing. I'll be honest he rolls over once in a blue moon (both ways) but really has no interest in it. He is a nosy baby so he is too concerned looking around to be bothered with rolling. But he sure moves those legs like he wants to be crawling already. Not yet buddy! All babies develop differently so I find it bothersome when I hear people talking and hear things like "Oh you should be worried, so and so should be doing this and that by now." Babies have a mind of there own just like we do and some babies, like Aidan, just don't like rolling over or don't like crawling or want to talk a little later than others. Just another thing for us mothers to be paranoid about. Is this why I see more gray hairs sprouting up!?!
All I know is I love seeing this little fellow hit these many milestones even if they are not at the "expected" week or month!
One thing I know for sure is Aidan's clothing size does not match how many months old he is!!
So plan on seeing this little fellow every Monday and hear my thoughts on all topics "Mommy".
He is so special he gets his own day over here at Simply Just Lovely!!

He is adorable!
The whole weeks thing cracks me up too! I'm 20 weeks pregnant, but if you wanted to put that into months it just doesn't add up right, and it's not the same! lol! Trying to explain that to people who 'don't get it' is fun too!
