A Mothers "4 Super Powers"

I swear when you become a mother you develop "super hero powers".  No joke!
You do things you never thought possible.
It's pretty cool really.  I mean who doesn't want a super power.

So without further ado here are a Mothers "4 super powers".

1.  Super Strength...yup just like Wonder Women.  Seriously a mother should be referred to as wonder women!  When I used to lift weights, which seems like ages ago, I would use two 10 pound weights...no laughing!!  Now I carry a 17lb baby in his car seat on one arm, a diaper bag and pocketbook on the other arm while carrying my coffee and sometimes a stroller.  Now those things combined are well over 20 lbs because believe me a diaper bag is never ending and can quickly add up in weight.  So for me this is called super strength.

2.  Super Speed...as fast as Flash!  I swear I can do things 100 times faster now that I have a baby.  Get dressed in the blink of an eye!  Shower in the time it takes to spell MISSISSIPPI!  I can get from my bedroom to the babies room in one leap!  Okay maybe I'm not that quick but believe me you manage to do things faster than you ever have before.

3.  Super Hearing...similar to that of Superman or should I say "Supermom".  I have always been a deep sleeper.  I mean I sleep through ridiculously loud thunderstorms, have fallen asleep in the movies and at concerts.  The things you can hear when you become a mother is remarkable.  I'm not even referring to cries from my son, I wake up to him moving his arm!  I remember being so nervous I wouldn't hear him at night...def not a problem!!  Does it matter if I'm running on an hour of sleep as opposed to eight hours, not at all!

4.  Psychic Powers...just like Professor X.  This may be the coolest, scariest and most amazing of the "super powers"!  I swear when it comes to Aidan I know when things are going to happen before they actually happen.  I cannot even count how many times I have woken up staring at the monitor and there is my sweet baby sound asleep.  Within the next couple minutes who wakes up...yup that is right, baby boy.  It's like I can sense he is going to wake up before he does.  Must be that "mothers instinct" everyone told me about.  I think it is pretty darn amazing to have that kind of connection with your child.

To all you mothers out there, we truly are super heros!!  I mean we gave birth...enough said!
Don't you mommas agree?!

My mother used to always tell me 'You'll understand when you're a mom.' I find myself saying the same thing now to my daughter :)
