Holiday Party Look

/ 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 /

I took the classic combination of black and white and created a chic, classy look that is trendy all at the same time.  Perfect for a holiday party!  I'm kind of in love with this fun, flirty skirt from The Loft.  Since the skirt is a bit busy, I paired it with a very feminine but simple blouse that has the perfect amount of detail.  And what better than the addition of a few sparkly accessories.

Thanksgiving Recap Through My Camera Lens

My first Thanksgiving as a hostess was a success!!  I had so much fun planning and preparing everything regardless of how hectic it got at times.  Maybe a yearly tradition has begun!

Aidan's fancy dinner attire!

My baby boy was 3 months on Thanksgiving!  Where does the time go, tear.

On Friday, the Christmas decorations came out!  Pictures to come.

Now it's time to take advantage of all the Cyber Monday deals!  First stop....Shutterfly!  Then maybe some Loft action.  Happy Shopping!

DIY Napkin Rings

So I decided to make my own napkin rings for Thanksgiving.  After hours of browsing Pinterest, I found some great ideas and tons of inspiration.  I had all the materials around the house minus the jewelry embellishments.

Here is what I came up with.

toilet paper rolls
burlap trim
jewelry embellishments
glue gun/glue

* I purchased the jewelry embellishments from Joann's fabric.

First I measured and cut the burlap trim, ribbon, and toilet paper rolls.

Then I glued the ends of the toilet paper rolls together.

Next, I glued the burlap trim around the entire toilet paper roll overlapping some trim back at the beginning.

I repeated the same step with the ribbon.

I glued the jewelry embellishment to the center of the napkin ring hiding where the burlap trim and ribbon overlapped.

The final touch was to add the bead to the center of the jewelry embellishment.

My napkins are folded and ready to go for Thanksgiving!!

How simple and cute is that!!  Not to mention pretty inexpensive.
