Good morning friends!

I don't know about you but I have an ongoing love affair with Instagram.  Talk about the best app ever!  Although I have been cheating on Instagram lately with one of my new favorite apps Picfx.  I love that I am able to add awesome light affects to my pictures with Picfx and then share it through Instagram and use the different filters to change the colors.  Talk about the perfect twosome!  If you have never used Instagram or Picfx, I suggest you get on that ASAP!

Here are a few of my favorite new discoveries/projects which I of course needed to capture through Instagram.

I was browsing blogs this past weekend and came across this awesome jewelry store called Alimonda.  They have such fun, trendy jewelry that is completely my style.  This made it hard for me not to purchase every last thing on their site.  After long consideration, I narrowed it down and chose my two favorite pieces which I am wearing above, the middles and long necklace.  Love, love, love is the only way to describe these pieces!  I bought my A (for baby Aidan) at Von Eshna.  Now I have a silver and gold A to keep close to my heart.  I love that I am able to wear these three necklaces together.  The difference in lengths is just perfect for layering.

If you want to experience deliciousness than you must go to Cups!  Unfortunately they only have locations in NJ and NY currently, but if you live by one go, go, go NOW and get some!  They have over 10 frozen yogurt flavors which you can mix together (as many flavors as you desire) and tons of toppings.  As you can see I piled them on!  I had strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate frozen yogurt with strawberries, reese's pieces, oreo cookie, and non-pareils as my toppings.  Perfect fulfillment for a pregnant woman's cravings!

Have you all heard of the magical place that is called Homegoods.  If you haven't then you are missing out!  The price is always right and they have fabulous, unique pieces.  I could go there everyday and find a new, must have item for my home.  I found this cute wooden giraffe figurine there, which just so happened to be the perfect addition to baby Aidan's room.  My bathroom was lacking some wall art, so where did I go, you got it Homegoods!  Did I find something?  Now that's a silly question.  Of course I did!  Are these pieces not just fabulous!

I call this my hippy chic style.  I came across this headband during my recent move and decided it needed some love.  I'm pretty sure I've had this for at least two years and this is the first time I wore it.  I tend to forget about things especially if they are not right in front of my face.  I purchased it at one of my all time favorite stores....Urban Outfitters!!  Headbands have been making an appearances quite often in my wardrobe this summer.  I go through phases and it just so happens to be a headband one currently.  This is probably why I have such a hard time parting with items!

I consider myself a pretty crafty person and love trying new things, so when my aunt asked me if I could paint a beach scene on her (shore house) mailbox I accepted the challenge!  Crafting makes me happy, so I enjoyed every last minute of this project.  And apparently I'm not a bad painter, who knew!  It's not amazing by any means but I think it came out pretty good for a first timer.  Now if only I could be sitting on that beach right now!

I am kind of obsessed with documenting my life through Instagram.  Anyone else?  Are there any link parties for Instagram because if not I may need to get on that!

Come follow along.

Belly Style - Stripes

I went to the doctors today and it's that time, the weekly visits have begun.  I still cannot believe I am 36 weeks and have less than a month until my due date!  Time goes by just too darn fast.  If I think time is flying now just imagine once baby Aidan arrives.  I'm going to want to stop time soon enough.

Out of all the maternity clothes I have purchased, this dress is by far my favorite.  It is so comfy and I love the striped pattern.  I have plans to take this dress in so I can continue to wear it after my pregnancy.  I'm just to smitten to let this dress sit in my closet and get no love.  I am a big fan of layering vests over my maxi dresses, hence then denim vest!  In this case, it also helps to disguise just how gigantic my bump is!  But then leave it to me to add a belt and accentuate the bump even more.

Peplum Fever

Before I became pregnant, I had purchased my first peplum top and loved it.  Unfortunately I only had the chance to wear it once before the belly got too big.  This is one trend I absolutely adore!  It is a very feminine, fun, romantic style that can be extremely versatile.  You can dress a peplum top up for a night out or wear it more casual for an everyday event.  These three tops are waiting for me in my closet once I lose this baby belly, in other words I will have to torture myself for a few more months every time I open my closet and see these beauties.  I decided to style these three tops with other pieces (or most pieces) that I already own.  If they are not already in my closet, you better believe they are on my wish list!  I have always been a very impulsive buyer and an online shopping fanatic.  You see I won't have the luxury to throw money away anymore with baby Aidan arriving (not that I should have been before) and I am perfectly fine with that.  It just gives me a reason to wear more pieces in my closet that get no lovin and to find great steals when I buy new items.  Adulthood, what a concept.

Well anyways, here are some fun, stylish, affordable combinations!

Everyday Wear

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

A Night Out

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7

The Office

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

See I now have one work outfit (for when I return from maternity leave), one outfit to wear out on a Saturday night (ha with a newborn this outfit may need to wait a long while), and one Sunday adventure outfit.  I have a terrible feeling this is just the start of my love affair with peplum tops!

Happy Saturday!!

A few non maternity items that still fit me, wohoo!  Oh the things that excite me these days.  I have been stuck inside most days due to the unbearable heat and humidity, but yesterday I finally left the house!!

This color blocked blazer just makes me want sherbet.  Don't ask me why but it does!

Dress & Blazer: Forever 21  |  Belt: H&M  |  Necklace: Target  |  Sandals: Steve Madden  |  Watch: NY&Co  |  Bracelets: Asos & Gypsy Warrior  |  Sunglasses: Karen Walker

Do you see how big my belly has grown!?!  I don't think my body is meant to carry this much weight in one spot.  I feel like I am carrying around multiple bowling balls (big ones)!  I miss the things I used to be able to do comfortably.

Things that are no longer comfortable:

Ha basically the things you do on a daily basis!  But you know what is comfortable:  THE POOL!!  Oh yes, swimming is a glorious activity.  I just want to sit in a pool for the rest of my pregnancy.  I forget I am even pregnant because that big belly of mine no longer weighs 100 pounds!  And then I get out!  But yesterday I spent some time in the pool and it was heaven.

Would I go through this all again you ask?  Abso-freakin-lutely because I already love this little boy more than words can describe!

Smoothie Love

Calling all smoothie lovers!!  If you love a good smoothie as much as I do then you must try this!  Hopefully you are also a lover of strawberries and bananas since those are the main ingredients.  If I could have a smoothie from Jamba Juice everyday oh how happy this gal would be, but that is just not a possibility.  When I worked in the city it was very possible considering I walked past one everyday on my long walk to work, oh the temptation I encountered on a daily basis.  That very tiny ounce of self-control kept me from emptying my wallet everyday for a sip of mouth watering amazingness!  Well, I no longer work in the city and now must drive 15 minutes to a Jamba Juice, not cool (insert laziness here)!  The other day I was craving a Strawberries Wild smoothie and when a pregnant women craves something she must have it.  When this craving came on I was at the supermarket, how convenient, so I bought some ingredients to make this deliciousness (or as close to it as possible) in the comfort of my own home.  I must say it tasted pretty darn close to an actual Strawberries Wild from Jamba Juice.  I have a terrible feeling this will be made far to often in my home!

Are your mouths watering for this recipe yet!?!

Here is how I made it:

2 small bananas
2/3 cup strawberries
3/4 cup strawberry-banana nectar
2 scoops vanilla frozen yogurt
1 cup ice

Slice your bananas and strawberries and add them to your blender.

Pour in the nectar.

Scoop in the frozen yogurt, mmmm yummy!

Add the ice.

Blend that baby up!

Pour that goodness into a glass and enjoy every last sip of it!!

What better way to enjoy your smoothie than in a mustache glass!!

Great things about this smoothie

1. It is delicious, enough said! (but if you still need more reasons)
2. It is inexpensive.
3. Extremely quick and simple.
4. Oh and it is not terrible for you either!
5. Did I mention it's delicious!!!

Now go make this fantastic, refreshing summer treat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner or maybe all three (ok, ok even I agree that is a bit too much)!  In all seriousness you must try this at least once!

I enjoyed mine already this morning!  But if I have one of these babies every day, I'm going to have to start a new trend: maternity belly tops!  My maternity tops barely cover this enormous belly!  Aren't maternity shirts made longer specifically to cover your growing belly, sheesh.  Baby boy you are going to be one big fella!

bold lips

I used to strictly be a chapstick (sometimes lipgloss) gal.  The only time I would wear lipstick was when I was in a wedding and I always hated how it looked.  I wasn't used to having color on my lips so when I did it was like bammmm what is going on there.  I decided this past year to give lipstick another chance.  Boy am I happy I did because lipstick and I now have a wonderful relationship.  I mean these days lipstick and mascara is all I need.  I have become quite lazy with my makeup routine.  I blame the pregnancy, haha.  I thought I would share some of the shades I have been testing out, starting with a very pink shade and ending with a deep berry color.  I most definitely am not a lipstick snob so I have no problem purchasing lipstick at a drugstore.

Lets check out the shades!

Brand: Elle from Kohls
Color: Rouge A Levres

Brand: Flirt! from Kohls
Color: Sangria

Brand: Ulta
Color: Red Carpet Red

Brand: Ulta
Color: Good Year for Wine

I'll be honest with you, I hate spending a lot of money on lipstick because what if I decide I hate the shade, so these are all very affordable options.  The first two shades have been my go to colors this spring/summer.  I decided a couple of months ago I wanted some bright, bold shades of lipstick and dove right in purchasing the first two pink shades.  I think that was a pretty drastic jump from just wearing chapstick.  Last weekend I decided I wanted to add some red shades to my small, but growing collection of lipsticks and that I did.  I opted for a red, red shade and then a berry shade.  I am loving the fourth shade especially for fall.  Yay for my new obsession with lipstick!

So what is your go to color?  Any suggestions?
