A World of Changes

On August 22nd my world was forever changed.
During my 9 months of pregnancy, I prepared as much as I could for parenthood.
I never realized just how much this little boy would mean to me...he's my world!
From the first time I held him, he had me wrapped around his little finger.

Things I have learned in the past 13 days:

It's amazing how little sleep I can function on.
Even when I'm asleep I listen for his cries.
Being pooped, peed, and puked on is no big deal, just part of my daily routine.
Makeup no longer exists in my life.
I'm lucky if I get to brush my teeth everyday.
The 5 S's really does work!
Multitasking is a skill that must be mastered.
I would sacrifice anything and everything for this little guy.
The love for a child can change people.
I will never have enough pictures of my lil cutie.
Time goes by way too fast.
I am already dreading the day I have to leave him and go back to work and that is four months from now!

"You will want to just watch him - his eyes, his hands, his movements - for hours.  It's normal"

"Know that your job in life is to feed him, love him, and point him in the right direction."

"At times, you will be blown away by the depth of your love for him."

"Don't forget that as a baby, he will always be looking for your face.  It will be this way forever."

"Realize that your son will love you more intensely than anyone or anything else in the world."

"Watch out when you're changing his diaper.  Baby boys shoot straight in the air."

My mom bought me this cute book (see quotes above).  I recommend it for any mothers with a son.

ahh, brushing teeth & showering become a delicacy. and yes, the 5 s's DO really work!!! i was off for 3 months, and it wasn't nearly long enough, so enjoy every second & take pictures upon pictures upon pictures. people constantly heckled me for all the pictures i took, and i'm SO happy i did! oh, and for the "pee shoots", we kept a stack of cheap washcloths by the diaper area to throw over the goods. saved us more than a few times :) xo!
